Gelatinous Cube

In November 2006, there was an article at Wizards.com about the surpassing difficulty in making a miniature for the classic "gelatinous cube" monster from D&D. (See here). It occurred to me that, for use in a personal game, the best material to make a gelatinous cube out of would obviously be... well, gelatin.

In this test I've used pineapple-flavored Jell-O brand gelatin for my monster. I think in the future I'd use lime or something to match the blue-green color in the official illustration. Also, I added extra water to increase the volume, but it made the cube extra fluid and very sloppy (it quickly split into pieces when a figure was stuck in it) - I'll avoid doing that another time.
